What Sets Us ApartAffordable Classes
Bella Dance Academy prides itself in keeping rates affordable so students and their siblings have the option to attend one or multiple classes per week. We know Steamboat kids are very active and involved in many extracurricular activities and that is why we encourage families to apply for tuition assistance through Steamboat Dance Theatre. Costumes for our May recital are kept at reasonable and economical rates, ideal for budget-conscious families. Non-competitive Atmosphere No student or group of students will receive more focus than another. All dance students are welcome into our dance community. Our dance studio offers a supportive atmosphere and provides an educational dance platform to allow your dancer to grow to their fullest potential. |
Mission:
Our goal is to reach and maintain a strong balance between the ART of dance and the ENTERTAINMENT of dance. History: Bella Dance Academy (BDA) was created in 2015 to provide an exciting and non-competitive dance environment for kids that offers affordable payment options and an economical recital for budget-conscious families. We lessen the factors that limit kids from taking a dance class by simplifying payment options and encourage the application of tuition assistance through Steamboat Dance Theatre. We know that kids sign up for dance class because they ENJOY dancing. Therefore, we focus on preserving that joy and excitement through our gentle teaching approach and a positive nurturing environment where kids can grow in self-confidence and express their uniqueness. We develop excellence and proper technique in dancers in a manner that fosters a child's love for dance and treasures the child. Through creative teaching methods like props, dance activities, and an abundance of encouraging words, we keep the FUN in dance! Bella Dance - PHILOSOPHY
Dance is a form of education and should not be taken lightly. Working with each individual, whether taking dance class for fun, recreation, exercise or a professional career, proper training must be the first concern. This includes correct stretching, conditioning, technique, and showmanship. In addition, it is our goal to be more than just a dance studio. We educate our students mentally as well as physically, with the goal of building self-esteem and confidence. Welcome to Bella Dance Academy! |

Contemporary Dance Classes
Do you love SYTYCD? Based in ballet and modern dance, this contemporary lyrical class teaches a fluid choreography, often using emotion to motivate the movement. One year prior training recommended for the continuing class. High kicks, leaps and turns are just a few of the moves these classes teach. This class is appropriate for older ages such as six and above. If you're not yet ready to have your child take a lyrical/contemporary class, try taking a ballet class first since contemporary tends to build off moves taught in ballet. Ballet |
Jazz Dance Classes
Jazz is an evolving dance form filled with rhythm, precision, and passion. Dancers learn body isolations of the head shoulders, ribcage, feet and arms. Individual expression and the development of personal style are encouraged. Jazz embodies many different styles, powerful, percussive, funky, sassy, and musical theatre. Classes are taught using the music of today together with the classical jazz of the past. Hip Hop |

Ballet Dance Classes
A ballet class for kids focuses on ballet technique as well as strength, balance and grace. Kids will begin to work on body alignment and posture while learning positions and developing strong muscles. A pre-ballet class is great for any age as young as two but when advancing to classical lines, it would be ideal for your child to be at the age of six and above. Studying ballet is one of the most effective and elegant ways of improving posture, grace, flexibility, and strength. No experience needed for the beginning classes. |
Hip Hop Dance Classes
This is an exciting blend of jazz and hip hop dance styles. This class begins with a thorough, heart-pumping warm up focused on mobility, strength and alignment. Then we dive into fun and funky choreography combining fluid, full-body jazz and hard-hitting funk and hip hop styles. |
