Heifer International ~ www.heifer.org
Heifer International's mission is to work with communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the earth.
By giving families a hand-up, not just a hand-out, we empower them to turn lives of hunger and poverty into self-reliance and hope.
With gifts of livestock and training, Heifer projects help families improve their nutrition and generate income in sustainable ways. We refer to the animals as "living loans" because in exchange for their livestock and training, families agree to give one of its animal's offspring to another family in need. It's called Passing on the Gift – a cornerstone of our mission that creates an ever-expanding network of hope and peace.

Off the Mat and Into the World ~ www.offthematintotheworld.org
Off the Mat, Into the World® (OTM), is dedicated to bridging yoga and activism. Founded in 2007, OTM’s mission is to use the tools of yoga to inspire conscious, sustainable activism.
OTM helps individuals take the path of yoga “off the mat and into the world," expanding the sphere of change outward to local and global communities. We do this by facilitating personal empowerment through leadership trainings, fostering community collaboration, and initiating local and global service projects.

National Trust for the Wounded Warriors ~ www.ntww.org
The National Trust for Wounded Warriors (“NTWW”) was founded to provide financial support to existing non-profits that provide services to our returning veterans. The NTWW is solely dedicated to assisting the American Wounded Warriors severely wounded, including those suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), as a result of their military service in Iraq and Afghanistan and their families.
The size and scope of the Wounded Warrior “need” is significant and substantially unmet. Specifically:
The size and scope of the Wounded Warrior “need” is significant and substantially unmet. Specifically:
- 2.5 million served in from Operation Freedom of Kuwait thru Iraq and Afghanistan;
- 510,000 applied for disability at the rate of 250 veterans per day;
- 375,000 dealing with PTSD, but less than 10% have been helped;
- 1,848 traumatic brain injury (“TBI”);
- 6,500+ Iraq and Afghanistan veteran suicides annually at the rate of one every 80 minutes vs. 6,400+ who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan to date; and
- 1,453 double amputees or paralyzed injury (Army only) – by the time the double amputees pass 40 years of age, the weakening of the quadriceps muscles necessary to support prosthetic leg limbs will force most, if not all, of them into wheel chairs for the balance of their lives.
